Almost Skateboards: Round Three

Almost: Round Three is a skateboarding video released on DVD in 2004 by Rodney Mullen's skateboard company Almost. It features the third part of the Rodney Mullen vs. Daewon Song series, the first two of which are included on this DVD as hidden extras. Round Three also features parts by Almost team skaters Chris Haslam, Cooper Wilt, Ryan Sheckler, William Patrick (played by Tyrone Olson and Chris Casey) and Greg Lutzka.

Skateboard Madness

When a reporter too laid-back for his own good is told his last chance to keep his job is to get some good photos for a story on skateboarding, he seeks out a group of four boarders who agree to take him on a skateboarding tour of California. After showing extensive footage of skateboarding moves and tricks, the film then goes on to show some surfing and snowboarding. The film is also bookended by a pair of animated shorts, both about skateboard racing.

The Revolution

Plan B (1997). The fourth and final installment of the Plan B fourology, The Revolution gives a timely nod to the fundamental changes the team's diverse video productions- Questionable (1992), Virtual Reality (1993), Second Hand Smoke (1994)- made in the direction of modern skateboarding. While stomping a broad and progressive path into the sport's future, each and every incarnation of the Plan B team typified real to real skateboarding, period. Over three years in the making , and well worth the wait Revolution is far the most modern of the company's video offerings in both form and content, but by no means follows the standard format of the day, choosing instead to lead the world of skateboarding to the bitter end. High Rollers

Watching High Rollers – The Golden Age of Arizona Skateboarding is like finding a lost artifact that helps complete a larger mystery from the past. In this case High Rollers adds a much needed layer of knowledge to the origins of radical vertical, and over-vertical, skateboarding. The skateboard boom of the 1970’s went from “sidewalk surfing” and driveway antics to aerials out of backyard swimming pools in an astonishingly short span of time. This evolutionary leap was for the most part well documented in the pages of Skateboarder Magazine and the 2001 documentary Dogtown and Z-Boyz.
