Crimson Mask

Crimson Mask is a documentary film by Marco Eisenbarth, that follows German 'Ultra Violence Wrestler' Thumbtack Jack a.k.a. Alexander Bedranowsky in and outside of the wrestling ring. Being much more than a simple career review, the film gives a deep insight beyond the mask of this seemingly violent and insane character that is Thumbtack Jack, who mutilates his opponents with thumbtacks, barbed wire, syringes and even fire. Crimson Mask shows the man on the other side. From his career high in the USA to his feud with arch enemy Drake Younger all the way to his very last 'Death-Match' against long time friend and mentor 'Hate', the filmmaker never leaves Thumbtack Jack's side. But then fate strikes and changes Alexander Bedranowsky's life forever...

Stardom 7th Anniversary

As long a the sun rises in the East, we will begin Stardom shows with rookies and youngsters. This show is no different, as Hiromi Mimura and Konami join the rookies and children in battle. I continue to be sad that Konami hasn't found a real place in Stardom yet, she is much better than this, but it is what it is. Hanan is the best child on the roster but all have shown flashes of ability and could turn into real stars if they continue wrestling the next few years.

Searching for the Lost Pochta

Travelogue of two film historians Nikolay Izvolov and Sergey Kapterev who visit world film archives around the globe in search of a lost sound version of one famous Soviet cartoon. It's "The Post" made by Mikhail Tsekhanovsky in 1929 and based on a poem by Samuil Marshak. At first "The Post" has been released in a silent form and later Tsekhanovsky remade it with experimental music and narration by Daniil Kharms. At that moment it was the first Soviet sound cartoon and it was a success all over the world. Russian film studies consider "The Post" to be of great importance and artistic value but unfortunately it's still lost. Only the silent version and the 1964 remake are still known and available.

A Texas Romance, 1909

The film recreates the world of a small Texas town in 1909, based on photos and letters. It tells the story of a local mailman who falls in love, marries, and tragically loses his wife soon after.

Sonic Youth: Koncertas Stan Brakhage Prisiminimui (April 12, 2003)

Filmed April 12, 2003 at a benefit concert held at and for The Anthology Film Archives, the international center for the preservation, study, and exhibition of avant-garde and independent cinema. In addition to screening films for the public, AFA houses a film museum, research library and art gallery. The event, which raised money for the Archives and celebrated the life and work of avant-garde film maker Stan Brakhage, featured Sonic Youth providing an improvised instrumental collaboration with silent Brakhage’s films. The band performed with drummer/percussionist Tim Barnes (Essex Green, Jukeboxer, Silver Jews).
