The Day After

Mr. and Mrs. Hilton throw a New Year's Eve party. They agree not to drink the punch themselves, but as guests begin to arrive their resolve weakens, and soon they are both cavorting drunkenly. Next morning Mr. Hilton, feeling very sick, is conscience-stricken over his drunkenness and his behavior with another woman. He fears to face his wife until he discovers that she feels just as guilty herself.

Polyteekkarifilmi

Polyteekkarifilmi (Polytekarfilmen) is a Finnish silent documentary film dating from 1924. The subtitle of the documentary is "The story of sport, polytheists and the gods of Olympia". The film aimed to raise travel funds for Finnish athletes traveling to the Paris Olympics.

After Matti is stabbed to death at his own wedding, Eero of Ojelmiston becomes a suspect, presumed to have avenged his recently deceased wife. Eero escapes with the help of a court judge but surrenders after his mother gets into trouble. At the courthouse, the priest admits that Vieremä Jaska confessed to the crime on his deathbed. The film has survived, but without subtitles.

The main characters are the artist Bertel von Bjelke and Hilkka Kanno the adopted daughter of the town councilor. Bertel is in love with Hilka, who, however, behaves badly with the artist. This does not prevent the artist from asking for the girl's hand from the town councilor Kanno, who accepts his friend's request. Kanto stresses, however, that the final decision is up to his daughter.

In northern Finland in the fall of 1916, Saima Niva rescues a man drifting in the river, who turns out to be a German lieutenant Braun. Assuming the roles of her aunt and an Irish maid, young Agatha looks after her guest, who is distressed over a broken engagement. His gratitude for her kindness ripens into love, which she reciprocates, unaware that his sight has returned. A lucky turn on the stock market results in the restoration of Burton's fortune, and when his former fiancée asks to resume their engagement, he rejects her for Agatha. A lost film.

Judge Granger, a candidate for mayor, attempts to persuade Mary Allen Sayre to marry him. She meets his double, a young traveling salesman named Jimmy Gallop, mistaking him for the judge. Granger’s opponents bribe Jimmy to impersonate the judge in public while they kidnap the magistrate almost wrecking his chances of election and nearly getting Gallop murdered. Jimmy saves himself, helps in the judge's campaign, and finds that Mary is in love with him. The judge realizes he is in love with his devoted secretary.
