Ugetsu

In 16th century Japan, peasants Genjuro and Tobei sell their earthenware pots to a group of soldiers in a nearby village, in defiance of a local sage's warning against seeking to profit from warfare. Genjuro's pursuit of both riches and the mysterious Lady Wakasa, as well as Tobei's desire to become a samurai, run the risk of destroying both themselves and their wives, Miyagi and Ohama.

Cup of torment

The events unfold after he learns the truth and seeks to kidnap his grandson, (Nemat's) infant son.

The Beginning and the End

Set in the suburbs of Cairo in the late 1930s, the story follows a middle-class Egyptian family grappling with the hardships of life after the death of their father, their sole breadwinner. The mother and her four children—three brothers and their sister, Nefisah—struggle to avoid slipping into poverty. They all go in different directions which aren't exactly good.

Hmone is a singer and dancer with one of the best known Burmese travelling theatres. One of the leading cast members is the pianist and composer Myint Thu. He has composed the song 'Hmone Shwe Yee' for Hmone which makes her a famous star. The song, praising the beauty and fragrance of the flower 'Hmone Shwe Yee', is a hidden declaration of love, but in 'real' life Myint Thu behaves with rather more reservation, strictness and coldness. He is a man incapable of showing his feelings. The mutual attraction is never admitted openly, and his love for Hmone becomes a real problem when a new admirer shows up. Ye Aung, an officer and Myint Thu's old school friend, falls in love with Hmone when he first sees her on stage.

Mask's vision quickly came to represent hardcore aspects of MMA fandom at a time when the sport floundered under political pressure. The history of MMA cannot be told without mentioning Charles “Mask” Lewis, or the era in which he emerged. On March 11, 2009, Lewis was killed by a drunk driver in Newport Beach, Calif. To honor his contributions, the sport's dominant promoter, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), posthumously inducted "Mask" as the first and only non-fighter into the UFC Hall of Fame.

Cheikh El-Hasnaoui is an Algerian singer who left his country in 1937 without ever setting foot there again. Between 1939 and 1968 he composed most of his repertoire in France. For many years the Algerian cafes of Paris were the stages of his shows. With a handful of artists of his generation, he laid the foundations of modern Algerian song. A fervent defender of women's rights, he claims, as a pioneer, the fight for identity for a plural Algeria. At the end of the Sixties, he ended his artistic career. On July 6, 2002 he died in Saint-Pierre de la Réunion, where he is buried to this day. This 80-minute documentary follows in the footsteps of this extraordinary character.
