Dead Hand episode 2. Last day of war. Last war broke out. All people are dead, but the machines continue dutifully follow orders. On the automatic base machines fueling and charge the weapons of last surviving bomber preparing to drop bombs at the dead enemy city. This happens until the echo of mankind subsides completely. Then comes a new era in which there is no place for us.
One train journey between two stations: the first one and the last one. In a second class compartment, a traveler meets all kinds of people with all kinds of fates but fails to find a friend. As alone as at the beginning of the journey, he takes his suitcase, gets off the train, and disappears in the night.
Circa 1963 - 1975. This is possibly test footage or something for a beer commercial, or something for a variety show of some sort. Dennis Muren animated it with replacement animation. The same technique that was used with George Pal's Puppetoons and the animation of the title character with The Beast From Hollow Mountain (1956). In fact, this technique is used today from Tim Burton to Laika.

As Tom and Jerry stage their typical fight sequences, the patriotic soldier theme of the title is evidenced by such things as a carton of eggs labeled "Hen Grenades"; Jerry dropping light bulbs from an airplane like bombs; and Jerry sending a telegram with the message "Sighted Cat - Sank Same." Musical phrasings from various patriotic war songs are heard throughout. The cut scene after Jerry hitting Tom with the board 4 times was cut from the 1950 reissue print for a war bond joke, and the original footage is currently considered "lost" due to the negatives destroyed in the 1978 George Eastman House fire.
