Timescapes

First officially screened as an anthology film in August 2018 in Seoul International Animated Film Festival, featuring 6 animated short films about life, love and the landscapes of Singapore past and present. With virtually no dialogue, each film is accompanied by a musical score and aims to show how our living landscapes and surroundings intertwine with our memories and imagination. Stories are based on Singapore’s past that spans 80 years. The latest addition is "Erhu", premiered on 5 Feb 2019. ​

60 Seconds of Solitude in Year Zero

An anthology of one-minute films created by 51 international filmmakers on the theme of the death of cinema. Intended as an ode to 35mm, the film was screened one time only on a purpose-built 20x12 meter public cinema screen in the Port of Tallinn, Estonia, on 22 December 2011. A special projector was constructed for the event which allowed the actual filmstrip to be burnt at the same time as the film was shown.

Aurel Klimt brings to life three brothers, The Hunchbacks of Damascus, re-creating the atmosphere of the Middle East and variety of the oriental storytelling. Vlasta Pospíšilová’s Three Sisters and One Ring shows a rural Decameron-like manual on how to enchant one’s loved ones with a mere ring and Jan Balej lets his characters Marek and Kouba re-live an ancient fairy-tale about greed, devils and natural phenomena in his The Sea, Uncle, Why is it Salty?

My Freedom

The Fire

Judith decides to go on her own to the salsa-dancing night, even though her boyfriend, with whom she goes there every week, can’t accompany her. Next morning, upon returning home, Judith refuses at first to accept that she’s a rape victim, but in the end decides to go to a doctor and press charges - which prove inadequate to have the rapist convicted. Under the influence of sweeping bodily and mainly psychological oscillations, Judith decides she has to follow an unorthodox path in order to prove the perpetrator’s guilt.

The show covers a wide range of topics, and this year we meet the Little Mermaid, the Egtved Girl, the Grovbollemanden, and H.C. Andersen. The show also offers a reunion with Olsen, Meyer, Emma, and pet shop owner Clausen from Huset På Christianshavn itself. In addition, we will see old acquaintances such as Fjertomanen, and we will attend the funeral of Dorthe and Grethe at Gyllegården...
