The Gift That Gives

The Gift That Gives follows the story of Callum Mori (Takaya Honda), the author of a book entitled, The Gift That Gives. He makes his first television appearance as a guest of The Arts Corner television show, presented by Kate Sedgeman (Lily Brown-Griffiths), who falls for him. Callum, however, falls for her best friend, Linda (HaiHa Le). Linda owns the bookshop where Callum launches his book but luckily for Kate, fate brings her and Callum’s brother, Austin (Damien Sato) together, as they discover hidden love letters, signed by aliases. Jointly, they all try to find out who penned them.

The Paraseekers: Charlie's House

A local group of friends in Northern NJ filming the history of Hackettstown claims that they have captured Undeniable proof that there is life after death. Sergio Duque along with Totowa resident Carl Cifaldi and his son Carl, daughter Laura Cifaldi and Paterson Residents Randy DeOrio and Theresa Baker Thielen have captured both visual and audio footage that has generated quite a buzz throughout social media. Laura Cifaldi who is known for her medium work in NJ was asked to join her father, brother and the "Paraseekers" team to get her feel on a large property which has historic precedence in Hackettstown. Sergio also has direct EVP responses to questions that were asked by the film crew which has left them baffled. The film crew never expected to witness everything that was captured nor have they ever had their equipment malfunction including having their new batteries constantly die. The "Paraseekers" team who uses an approach that no other Paranormal research team has ever used ...

Cityscape: Impressions of a City

In this experimental animated short, Ryan Larkin (Walking) creates a series of figures who move across the screen and disappear into a hole. Eventually, the hole metamorphoses into a bridge, on top of which stands the young man from whom the others figures originated.

Two People

A man is seen by a prostitute in his home. They try to communicate. But the loneliness they both carry creates a gap between them, enabling that communication.

Nightwalking

A woman takes a shortcut and is followed by a stranger. She is scared and is thinking whether she should run or not. Out of the blue, she decides to turn around and she sees nothing but a cell phone on the floor. In flashback, we see the stranger embarrassed for the reaction of the woman. He is aware that she believes that he might be a rapist following her, and he decides to call his mother to talk loudly on the phone and calm down the woman. However, something happens and the stranger vanishes.

Mazeppa

Mazepa, the Ukrainian governor is in love with his goddaughter Maria. He quickly wins her heart. But her old father treats the wooer harshly… Maria runs away. The furious father won’t submit. This intrigue makes the most of the ingredients of historical drama. Maria is confronted to the arbitrary; the young woman is in a dilemma between her love and her family. The tragic outcome is equal to her destiny.

Peaks and Valleys: Type 1 Diabetes on the Vancouver Island Trail

Peaks and Valleys is a feature-length documentary following Nick Noble and Rebecca Beitner in their directorial debuts as they navigate the highs and lows of Type 1 Diabetes and the Vancouver Island Trail (VIT), in the traditional territory of the Coast Salish, Nuu-Chah-Nulth, and Kwakwaka'wakw people. The VIT is a new trail, and Nick and Becca are among the first hikers to attempt to hike the route in one six-week trip. The story of Nick's experience with diabetes throughout his life is interwoven with the challenges of managing it in a backcountry environment, bringing information and insight about a chronic health condition that is reasonably common yet misunderstood by many people. The mountains, forests, and coastlines of Vancouver Island are brought to life by original art, animation, and photography by the filmmakers, both of whom are multidisciplinary visual artists. Peaks and Valleys will appeal to lovers of nature, adventure, art, and disability justice.
