War Songs

Paul Schmidt sent me a set of five poems from a series called WAR SONGS. He treats the war in a brilliant and sarcastic way, evokes his seduction. Mark Bennett's score is itself provocative, languorous, and close to a waltz. The whole thing is a series of songs cast in the mode of melodrama, that is to say music in tandem with a narration. My contribution lies in the superimposition of war scenes, coupled with what I called an image of Gabriel: a young and handsome soldier, a personification of the good warrior, a protective image. He gives off strong impressions throughout the duration of the film. She makes him appear sometimes active and aggressive, sometimes asleep or beckoning. The film uses footage from the Vietnam War and World War II. They show soldiers marching, tanks rolling. Explosions reveal in passing our dear “Gabriel”.

The way back

Passing all four seasons for a day, she is on her way back. And then, she falls into a peaceful sleep with a cozy feeling that doesn't exist anywhere.

The Fatal Comma

Silviya is an excellent student, favorite of the teachers, but she does not do well in math. Silviya puts a comma in the school journal between the number 1 and 9 in the absences column in order to hide her absence from math class. The school regulation is set; three absences mean an administrative punishment. Two of her innocent classmates are punished, numbers 1 and 9, not number 19, which is Silviya. The teachers trust the "good girl". Silviya feels guilty.She is struggling between right and wrong. She must find the right answer for herself.

Unspoken

The film tells the story of Grace, who is still grappling with the disappearance of her daughter five years earlier, and her husband Lukas, who is trapped in his own helpless grief. He and Grace have long since stopped communicating. As Grace confronts a series of small absurdities in her apartment building, Lukas finds himself unable to complete even the simplest of daily tasks. When something truly heartbreaking happens in a family, the deepest response is often unspoken.

Schmirinski's: Fiesionen

The story of "Fiesionen" begins in a retirement home in the year 2050... Schmidi and René reside there and, unsurprisingly, continue to cause all sorts of excitement. When the inventor of the time machine, Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. Steissbein, visits his childhood friend and nursing home director Prof. Gräulich, they spontaneously decide to punish the two incorrigible troublemakers for their inappropriate behavior by sending them back to the bad old days as guinea pigs. The two sly foxes, marked by a dreary and colorless future, decide to use the opportunity of their trip into the past to make the future more joyful and positive again. Through their entirely unselfish persuasion in our present, they hope to bring about a change in humanity's thinking. This should have a favorable influence on their own future in the retirement home.

Vetri Selvan

Vetri (Ajmal), Professor (Mano) and Ganesh run away from Chennai to Ooty, where they meet a lawyer Sujatha (Radhika Apte). For Sujatha it is love at first sight as she falls for Vetri. Sujatha discovers after an accident that police are on their trail and they are accused in a murder case after escaping from a mental health institute.

The ballroom dancing the world recognizes today is competitive ballroom dance, sometimes known as dancesport. It is comprised of ten dances, which can all be danced in “closed ballroom” hold. The style danced in BURN THE FLOOR is called “international style” and has been danced in competition since 1920. International style ballroom dance consists of ten dances, split into five Latin American dances and five ballroom dances (standard). Each BURN THE FLOOR dancer has spent a lifetime training to compete against other dance couples. This show allows the dancers to demonstrate their love and passion for their art.
