A musical romantic tragedy about a famous composer who moves back to his small hometown after having had heart troubles. His search for a simple everyday life leads him into teaching the local church choir, which is not easily accepted by the town yet the choir builds a great love for their teacher.
The Natalie Cole Special aired on CBS in 1978 and featured artists like Earth, Wind & Fire, Stephen Bisho,p and Johnny Mathis. The show presented Cole’s ease on stage and her skills with multiple styles like pop, standards, and her own hits.
1982 found Mink DeVille in the middle of the transition from their CBGB's New York punk origins to a more subtle, rootsier sound blending soul, R & B, Cajun and other influences. Led by Willy DeVille, whose unique style and inimitable gravelly voice always made them stand out from the crowd, Mink DeVille released their first album in 1977 and immediately had a huge hit with the track Spanish Stroll. By the time of this appearance at Montreux in 1982 they were touring in support of the fourth album Coup De Grace and the show features tracks from across their career to that point as well as a couple of unreleased gems including their cover of the Ben E. King classic Stand By Me.
The super guitarist Masayoshi Takanaka turns 70 and returns to Katsushika for the first time in four years!! In 2021, he celebrated the 50th anniversary of his debut, and his legendary live "Niji Densetsu Final" was a great success at the Budokan. This year, at his 70s, he is still running through the national tour, including a live show at Katsushika. Guitar freaks should not miss this show!
