The Man from Snowy River

The Man from Snowy River is an Australian television series based on Banjo Paterson's poem "The Man from Snowy River". Released in Australia as Banjo Paterson's The Man from Snowy River, the series was subsequently released in both the United States and the United Kingdom as Snowy River: The McGregor Saga. The television series has no relationship to the 1982 film The Man from Snowy River or the 1988 sequel The Man from Snowy River II. Instead, the series follows the adventures of Matt McGregor, a successful squatter, and his family. Matt is the hero immortalized in Banjo Paterson's poem "The Man from Snowy River", and the series is set 25 years after his famous ride.

Adventures in Paradise

Adventures in Paradise is an American television series created by James Michener which ran on ABC from 1959 until 1962, starring Gardner McKay as Adam Troy, the captain of the schooner Tiki III, which sailed the South Pacific looking for passengers and adventure. USA Network aired reruns of this series between 1984 and 1988. The plots deal with the romantic and detective stories of Korean War veteran Troy. The supporting cast, varying from season to season, features George Tobias, Guy Stockwell, and Linda Lawson.

Captain David Grief is an American action/adventure series that aired in syndication from October 1957, to 1960. The program was based on a series of Jack London short-stories centered around the South Seas tradesman and adventurer David Grief.

Open Up, Police!

"Open up, the Police" is the first Russian documentary series about the police. This is a cycle of 26 films about the "harsh working days" of real policemen, employees of the Moscow Department of Internal Affairs "Airport". They perform operational and investigative actions, which are immediately removed by the film group. Among the heroes are a district inspector, an operational officer, an investigator, an inspector for minors and the head of the Department of Internal Affairs. Each episode is dedicated to one crime. The viewer sees with his own eyes how operas work - starting from a call to the police station, ending with the detention of a criminal and his interrogations. The Laurels Award nominees were three series - "Trunk", "Step from the roof", "Snow was falling Quietly".

USSR - Canada. More Than Hockey

Today, a series of hockey matches in 1972 between the national teams of Canada and the USSR is remembered only with the prefix super. They call it a milestone in the history of the development of world hockey, and not only hockey. The meeting of Soviet hockey players with Canadian professionals has become the main topic of world news. South Pacific

South Pacific is a British nature documentary series from the BBC Natural History Unit, which began airing on BBC Two on 10 May 2009. The six-part series surveys the natural history of the islands of the South Pacific region, including many of the coral atolls and New Zealand. It was filmed entirely in high-definition. South Pacific was co-produced by the Discovery Channel and the series producer was Huw Cordey. It is narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch. Filming took place over 18 months in a variety of remote locations around the Pacific including: Anuta, Banks Islands, French Frigate Shoals, Papua New Guinea, Palmyra, Kingman Reef, Tuvalu, Palau, Caroline Islands, Tuamotus and Tanna Island in Vanuatu. On 6 May 2009, BBC Worldwide released a short clip of big wave surfer Dylan Longbottom surfing in slow motion, high-definition footage as a preview of the series, attracting extremely positive reactions on the video sharing website YouTube. The series was released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on 15 June 2009. At the end of each fifty-minute episode, a ten-minute featurette takes a behind-the-scenes look at the challenges of filming the series. The series was released by Discovery International in the USA under the title Wild Pacific, with narration provided by Mike Rowe.
