La Madrastra is a Mexican telenovela produced by Carmen Armendáriz for TelevisaUnivision and originally broadcast on Las Estrellas from August 15 to October 21, 2022. It is a remake of the 1981 Chilean telenovela of the same name created by Arturo Moya Grau. Adapted by Martha Carrillo and Cristina García, and directed by Carlos Cock Marín and Luis Eduardo Reyes, the telenovela stars Aracely Arámbula, Andrés Palacios, Marisol del Olmo, Gabriel Soto, Cecilia Gabriela, Martha Julia, David Zepeda, and Juan Martín Jauregui. The story follows Marcia Cisneros, who is released from prison after serving twenty years for a murder she did not commit. Determined to prove her innocence, she returns to Mexico to reunite with her family and uncover the identity of the real killer. As she confronts betrayal, resentment, and long-buried secrets, Marcia fights to regain the love of her children and rebuild the life that was taken from her.
