Back to the Future

An animated series for television based on the Back to the Future trilogy of feature films. Based on the highly successful Back to the Future movie trilogy, this series is set, um, "after" the events of the last film, as the adventures of Marty McFly and Doc Brown in their DeLorean time machine continue. Joining the ride is Clara, (Doc's wife from Back To The Future Part III,) Jules and Verne (their sons) Einstein the dog and Jennifer (Marty's girlfriend). And apparently there's a Tannen in every time as relatives of Biff keep popping up, and creating conflict. Mary Steenburgen and Tom Wilson reprise their roles from the movies. During live portions of the show, Christopher Lloyd reprised his role as Doc Brown and was joined by Bill Nye, who conducted experiments that were used in the show.

Julia and Jacques Cooking at Home

Julia and Jacques: Cooking at Home was the last culinary series to star Julia Child. Teaming up with Julia for these 22 programs was Jacques Pépin, who had just finished Jacques Pépin's Kitchen: Encore with Claudine. This show took A La Carte Communications, its producing agency, into a new direction. After Julia and Jacques: Cooking at Home, A La Carte grew by leaps and bounds with programs such as Michael Chiarello's Napa and America's Test Kitchen. There is no editor for this show. Primer Plano was a Venezuelan television talk show seen on Radio Caracas Televisión and was hosted by Marcel Granier, the current general director of RCTV and president of Empresas 1BC, the parent company of RCTV. The show debuted on 10 November 1976 with an interview of Diego Arria Salicetti, then governor of Caracas and has aired on-and-off since then. Primer Plano's most famous guest was current Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez in 1998. Other important guest included Arturo Uslar Pietri, Henrique Salas Römer, Henrique Salas Feo, Irene Sáez, Valentina Quintero, and Andres Velázquez to name a few The latest episode of Primer Plano took place on 30 November 2006 with an interview of Manuel Rosales, the current governor of Zulia and the then-opposition presidential candidate for the 2006 Venezuelan presidential elections.

Quick as a Flash

Quick as a Flash was a 30-minute radio quiz program which featured drama segments with guest actors from radio detective shows. Created by director Richard Lewis and emcee Ken Roberts, the program debuted over the Mutual Network on Sunday, July 16, 1944. Sponsored by the Helbros Watch Company, the show was produced by Lewis and Bernard J. Prockter with scripts by Gene Wang. Music was by Ray Bloch and the Helbros Orchestra. Six contestants from the studio audience competed for cash and other prizes. Clues were presented in the form of dramatic sketches covering such subjects as current events, movies, books and historical situations. With a buzzer, a contestant could interrupt at any time to submit an answer. During the Helbros Derby, a guest detective from a radio mystery program put in an appearance. Frank Gallop and Win Elliott were announcers. The series ended on June 29, 1951. Approximately one year later, the series made an attempt to go on television.
