The Crescent Moon

Directed by Jang Kil-soo, the film revolves around a boy and his younger sister, who live in poverty yet in a pure and innocent way. A boy named Nan-na lives with his grandmother in a remote village near the ocean. But when he turns four, his life gets tougher as he has a baby sister Ok-yi and all the affection he received starts going toward the baby. The free spirited boy, who behaved as he liked, now has to take care of his sister, and he has no choice but to start hating her and teasing her. But for Ok-yi, Nan-na is the best in the world.

Squame

Squame explores the body's sensitive envelope, the skin. The ephemeral animated desquamations, created with the help of sugar casts, evoke fragile landscapes in a world at the edge of abstraction. Somewhere between archeological artifacts and macroscopic observations, the friable frontiers of these human bodies elude our gaze.

Sadness

Based on photographer William Yang's one man stage show, "Sadness" chronicles two diverging narratives through the use of slide photography, oral history and stylised recreation. One story follows Yang's pilgrimage into the heart of the North Queensland sugar cane fields as he investigates the murder of his uncle Fang Yuen. The other is a series of moving portraits of the many friends and lovers Yang has lost to AIDS. Director Tony Ayres skillfully weaves these two separate stories together creating a powerful testament to family, friends, love and loss. Cinematography by Tristan Milani. Narrated by William Yang.

Dream of the Red Chamber

Documentary about rock club in the city of Sverdlovsk, USSR. The title is not connected to the communist ideology, it's a reference to one of China's Four Great Classical Novels. The idea is that the phenomenon of Soviet rock music is as extensive and complicated as the structure of the book. The Oriental Honey Buzzards of Ninety-nine Peaks

Oriental Honey Buzzard (Pernis ptilorhynchus) is one of the raptors in Taiwan that specifically builds their nests in “ferns”. While other buzzards migrate between cold northern continent and warm southern islands, they prefer to propagate in Taiwan. Ninety-nine Peaks is their major habitat. With different feather colors, this species can only be distinguished from other birds by their long narrow beak and sharp claws. However, it is certain that all oriental honey buzzards love to eat pupa of bees. The Oriental Honey Buzzard of Ninety-nine Peaks is a documentary produced by Raptor Research Group of Taiwan and published by Forestry Bureau, Council of Agriculture Executive Yuan in 2011. This film not only was nominated in the 34th Montana International Wildlife Film Festival but also won the first –run film in the National Ecological Film Festival and the Best Animal Behavior Award at the 2011 Japanese Wildlife Film Festival.
