The history of the Phoenix Restaurant is closely intertwined with the stories of four women of different generations. It portrays the commonest marital problems and various kinds of stress suffered by women over the centuries.
The story takes place in the early years of the Republic of China. The Huo family and the Zhao family are the two giants in the martial arts world today. They have been fighting over who is the authentic secret boxer. Huo Yuanjia is the fourth son of the Huo family. People are not optimistic about him because he has been frail and sick since he was a child, and they are not prepared to teach him martial arts. However, Huo Yuanjia, who is extremely perceptive, actually realized the Mizong Fist on his own. On the day when the two families agreed to compete, He used the Mizong Fist and defeated his opponent Cheng Tianxiao. Unexpectedly, Cheng Tianxiao suffered a huge blow and passed away. His apprentice Chen Zhen worshiped Huo Yuanjia as his master. A group of people came to Tianjin. Huo Yuanjia, who was highly skilled in martial arts, quickly attracted the attention of the Japanese and was hunted down. They could only take Qiannan to flee to Beijing and set up the Jingwu Sect.
Song Bird is a historical drama television series produced by TVB and broadcast in Hong Kong in 1989. The story is based on the life of shidaiqu singer Zhou Xuan. The Chinese name of the TV series comes from one of the name of the song used in the 1937 film Street Angel.

She is heartbroken, and her love for YUEN turns into hatred that moment on...
Mainland youngster TANG WAI CHEUNG (KWOK CHUN ON) looks for his future father-in-law LING SING PO (CHUN WONG) with an old Hong Kong address passed on by his late mother. She somehow ends up settling down in the flat where CHEUNG and CHAN live. FUNG complains about everything in the flat. CHEUNG cannot stand her and fights with her all the time. On the other hand, CHAN is attracted by FUNG’s beauty…
Wing Chun Master WONG WAH PO’s successor LEUNG TSAN is framed for a murder and flees to Foshan. He finds shelter with his uncle LEUNG YEE TAI (LEUNG KA YAN). In order to investigate the murder, TSAN goes under-cover and becomes a cook for a tycoon, Mr CHAN. He meets his lover CHEUNG KIN HEI in CHAN’s house. He is shocked to find that HEI is now married. HEI is jealous about a beautiful princess FU TSAT HO YUET who is always with TSAN. HEI thinks that TSAN ran away to avoid marrying her, and chases him all the way to Foshan. She has crossed some villains, so the only way to save herself is to have a fake marriage with the powerful Mr CHAN. Chan dies soon after the wedding, leaving HEI suddenly widowed. She is determined to raise CHAN’s only son CHAN WAH SHUN as a responsible person.
SO TSAN, better known as Beggar So, is one of the ten best Kung-Fu maters known in Canton, the ‘Canton Ten Tigers‘, in the 1920's. The shown was rerun from Thursday, January 29, 2009 to February 26, 2009 from Monday to Friday at 12:05am on TVB Jade in Hong Kong. The Chinese title is a reference to Shi Jian, who had played as villains in many Wong Fei Hung movies featuring Kwan Tak Hing as Wong Fei Hung, and later in TVB's television series. Reversing the trends set by previous Wong Fei Hung stories, the title archvillain assumes the leading role of the series, with Wong Fei Hung as the supporting role.
